Hristo Smirnenski Hut

When you enter the world of the Hristo Smirnenski Hut, you will discover a place where time has stopped and tranquility surrounds you. Sacred peace, deep mountain breaths, and beautiful views—this is what awaits you! This is our treasure in eastern Rila, overlooking the Pirin Mountains and a few kilometers from the western Rhodopes! It is part of the European hiking route E-8 and is the starting point for routes to the peaks of Belmeken, Ibar, Sivri, and Slavov Vrah, Yundola, and others. The area offers opportunities for various activities and sports such as skiing, orienteering, mountain biking, and more.

The Smirnenki Hut is a massive four-story building located at 1,760 meters above sea level. It can be reached by an asphalt road and is 6 km from Belmeken Dam, 10 km from the village of Yundola, and 26 km from Bulgaria's spa center, the town of Velingrad.

The hut has 80 beds. Nineteen rooms have their own bathroom (double, triple, and quadruple), two apartments with two rooms each have their own bathroom (double and triple), and seven rooms share a bathroom (double, triple, quadruple, and quintuple).

The lodge has a 30-seat hall suitable for seminars and training courses, a sauna, barbecue, ski storage, and ski wardrobe.

The kitchen offers a rich menu of Bulgarian dishes prepared with local products.

    Hello, everyone! I am writing to thank the staff at the Hristo Smirnenski hut – they are extremely hospitable, friendly, responsive, and young people! We were there on July 30, and even though the main building is under renovation (expected to be completed in 2-3 weeks), they accommodated us in a bungalow with five double rooms and one triple room, each with its own bathroom and toilet. The rooms are very cozy. We had a very fun evening with songs and dancing, together with the young hosts of the lodge, of course! We thank them for their care and attitude! I recommend it!
